Simple Audio Secrets- How To Record An Interview

You spent months hunting down the perfect candidate for a telephone interview.

You've researched the most poignant questions.

You spend an hours on the telephone and can't wait to release your new info product.

But wait ... there's a problem! The recording sounds like a bubbling fish tank!

This is a scenario all to familiar to me. At least once a week an internet marketer will send me an email ... all in a panic ... because their seminar or interview recording sounded horrible. Sometimes the tracks didn't even line up and they're out of sync with their guru guest.

Well at this point you have two choices.

(1) You release the recording anyway and hope you don't get too many refund requests.

or

(2) You hire an audio editor and PRAY that they can fix the mess.

The problem is that sometimes it just isn't worth investing thousands into audio editing - no matter how good the content really was. And every word of your interview has to be fixed ... that's what it will cost.

The solution is to plan it correctly from the beginning. Don't use an internet recording service, and don't "hope for the best". If this is your very first attempt ... do a dry run with someone else, and listen to the quality, before you go live with the real deal.

Remember that recordings will always sound best at the SOURCE that they came from. In other words, if you have a big sexy mic with a big sexy radio voice, to have it sound that way your recording equipment has to RIGHT THERE in the same room that you are in. Don't opt for a service that is online. You're just asking for trouble.

But what do you do if it's an interview and you can't get your guru to fly in and record in YOUR office? Actually there are plenty of options. But they don't include a telephone.

The simple solution ... is You record YOUR file ... and HE records HIS. You can use either software or hardware solutions. (Or sometimes a combination of the two.)
